How To Make It Rain

First put our full length Drover style raincoats away because we didn’t use them last year.  Decide not to renew our wet weather Regatta over trousers and jackets.  Wash the boat, clean the brass work.  Decide to go shopping on the bus (1 mile walk).  Look out-side and say it’s stopped, let’s move the boat.

Each of these things has made it rain, probably more rain than all of last year.  Certainly more rain than when we we out cruising last year.  As I have said many times we need it so I am not complaining for once.  A few more weeks of it and we may have enough for the year.  We are planning lunch at the pub today, I feel this will also be a rain maker but for the moment it has ceased.  We have another swans nest near the boat.  The sit on their eggs for up to 35 days, it seems to me the female gets this privilege while the male continues to feed normally.  SOunds like he’s got it right.

Mooring here has been like mooring over winter.  The same boats are here all moored in a line so last evening we tried our sloe gin with Viv and David. It’s good stuff we still have a litre and a half left.  I don’t think it will last long though.
